Casey The Wonder Dog

imageCasey is about a year old, he was found in Eastern Washington after being hit by a car on December 1st, 2015.

He was taken to the Wenatchee Humane Society and on December 4th had his left front leg amputated.

We met Casey (then Valentino) on December 12th at a pet adoption event in Issaquah, WA. It was love at first sight. As I knelt in front of him, he laid his head on my shoulder…..I think he thought we’d be good together……I have my left forearm missing and wear a prosthetic limb!

We are now 7 weeks post op. Progress has been wonderful. A little therapy helped us move in the right direction, after 3 sessions Casey could balance with all 3 legs on a bosu ball.

Today was our first encounter with Lake Washington….he shone like the brightest star in the sky. Oh how he warmed our hearts as he leapt and pranced in the water.

Who needs 4 legs when you can have this much fun with 3!!

  1. Your story warms my heart. You are so kind and Casey knows he has found his forever home with you. He’s beautiful and the name Casey fits him well. That is a wonderful picture of a happy boy just getting on with his new wonderful life. He definitely had your name stamped on his heart.

You and your human had each others names stamped on each others heart from the day you were born! I have no doubt about that!

  3. Casey is a handsome devil! He looks a bit like a Leonberger, but I can’t really tell how big he is from the photo. I’m so glad he found you. I know the “one look” thing. Sometimes you just know it was meant to be. He’s going to rock the whole tripawd thing!
